Welcome! Services for Aboriginal Students would like to invite you to be part of our 8th Annual Theyul’shenum Tseep – “Setting Your Feet in a New Direction” - A Traditional Welcome for New Indigenous Students.
This is an event specifically designed for Indigenous Students (and their families) studying at Vancouver Island University. This session generally begins with an official Traditional Coast Salish Welcome from our VIU Elders, followed by a range of interactive presentations of academic, health, wellness and cultural services available to assist you as you begin your journey as a student.
This event will take place on August 31 from 9-10am in Building 210 in the first floor Atrium.

VIU medical clinic has two Nurse practitioners (NP). The VIU Medical Clinic is not a walk-in clinic and appointments must be made. The appointment line is available Monday - Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Current students without a local primary care provider (Local = from Comox Valley to Cowichan Valley) are eligible to be seen.
VIU Counselling Services offers free confidential and professional support to enrolled VIU students.
